Injectables

Neuromodulators are perhaps the most well-known type of cosmetic injection. They're most commonly used to treat wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause them. 

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin in order to plump up wrinkles and fine lines, as well as add volume to areas of the face that have lost volume due to age. Dermal fillers are made from a variety of different substances, including hyaluronic acid, collagen, and fat from your own body. Unlike neuromodulators, dermal fillers are not temporary - they can last for months or even years. 

Skin boosters are injections that contain a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that work to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. Skin boosters can be used to treat a variety of concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and dryness. 

PRP injections work by using your own blood plasma to stimulate hair growth. Plasma is the clear liquid component of your blood that contains platelets - cells that are responsible for clotting and healing wounds. When injected into the scalp, PRP helps to trigger new hair growth and thicken existing hair follicles. 

The vampire facial is a type of facial that uses your own blood plasma to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. The plasma is obtained by drawing some blood from your arm and then separating out the platelets using a centrifuge. The platelets are then injected back into your face using microneedling or mesotherapy needles. 

Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that helps break down dietary fat. When injected into areas with excess fat deposits, deoxycholic acid breaks down the fat cells so that they can be metabolized by the body. This results in a reduction in circumference around the injection site. Deoxycholic acid injections are most commonly used to treat double chin syndrome (submental fullness).

Vitamin B12 is an important vitamin that helps keep our nerves and red blood cells healthy. It can be found naturally in animal products like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However; some may need to supplement their diet with B12 injections or oral supplements since they're not getting it through their diet.

Book an appointment on our website and select “Cristina Amorim” as your Provider. Choose from our Cosmetic Injectables Treatments menu – or if you don’t know which treatment you want – select “Free Consultation”.

When you meet with Cristina, she will do an in-person or virtual consultation with you to determine your goals, assess what treatments are suitable for you, and propose a plan. Then before performing the procedure(s), both of you will consult with her Medical Director by video call to ensure that everything is safe and good to go.

After the treatment is complete, Cristina will provide you with post care instructions and arrange a follow-up appointment with you in 2 weeks where you’ll discuss the results and make any desired modifications.

Cristina is currently available on alternating Thursdays from 12-7pm and Saturdays from 11-3pm.

While results depend on the treatment you’re receiving, results of fillers and neuromodulators generally include a smoothing of fine lines, added volume to one’s face and an uplifted, rejuvenated appearance. No one wants to look ‘fake’ or ‘overdone’ and we’ll make sure it’s just enough – and not too much – to achieve results you’re happy with.

The results from filler are immediate and you will generally see a difference in volume as soon as a treatment is administered. Results improve slightly over time, and clients normally see the full result within 2 weeks of treatment.

For neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport, it takes a number of days for results to be seen. Generally, you will see the full result within 2 weeks.

In the lips, filler lasts about 6 months. Elsewhere in the face, filler lasts between 8 months – 2 years depending on the area of the face. Filler will generally last the longest in areas of the face that are less expressive.

There are expected side effects such as redness and tenderness at the injection site with most injectables treatments. Other possible responses include temporary bruising - and in the case of fillers - swelling. These side effects typically diminish over time and resolve within 1-2 weeks. 

There are risks to any injectables treatment that Cristina will discuss with you prior to treatment. Although it’s important for you to be aware of these risks, they occur only in rare cases and can be avoided through consultation with Cristina and her Medical Director.

While most of our clients are delighted with their results, from time to time, changes may be desired. You will meet with Cristina at your 2 week follow-up appointment and be able to discuss any concerns you may have. In the case of filler, a substance called hyaluronidase may be injected to dissolve unwanted filler. For neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport, tweaks may be done to correct any imperfections. Also, since no injectables treatment is permanent, any changes that have been made will diminish over time.

Restylane

Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines). Restylane is also used for lip enhancement and is uniquely formulated to give your lips fullness and definition.

Restylane Skin boosters

Dysport

Dysport is a natural-looking, fast-acting, long-lasting prescription injection proven to help smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows—without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions. Dysport temporarily treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity.

Dysport is approved in 69 countries and has 25 years of clinical experience worldwide. 97% of women treated with Dysport say they’d do it again.

To ensure that we are providing the right treatment for you, Cristina will screen you for contraindications beforehand. However, there are some things you should know of that would prevent you from receiving filler treatment at the time of your appointment. Individuals should wait 2 weeks to receive filler treatment after:

• Dental work including cleanings
• Vaccines
• Colds or flus
